anarchy indeed!

It's been a long time since I've sketched without drawing from life. My sketchbooks are filled with drawings of fellow new yorkers (sleeping on the train, reading in the park). But I really love letting my subconscious get freaky! Plus, there's a "sketchbook" section on my new site, which is in the process of being built. So I'd better get busy!

stained glass study

This is an ink and pencil drawing, inspired by the intricate organic linework of Alphonse Mucha. This is a study for a "stained glass" painting using glass paint on clear plexiglass. Number one in a series of three.

Bad Luck In Love

Pen and digital. This drawing will become the interface of my new site. Each heart will be a link to a different page on the site.

Patience

This isn't a very clear image, but my camera is broken! But thanks to the digital age, I was able to use my camera phone, which doesn't produce very high resolution images. But here it is. The latest artistic endeavor is a watercolor painting. This lady in waiting represents those moments in life that require extreme amounts of patience in the face of adversity.

Beasts of Burden

This is the second ink drawing in a series of three. It's about the freedom of finding love. These two kindred creatures meet unexpectedly, suddenly realizing the weight of their burden.

Indecision

This is an ink drawing that I just finished. It's actually a study for a large painting that I want to do. I've printed the drawing on smooth paper, and am adding color with colored pencils in order to work out the color pallette that I want to use. The prismacolors sit nicely on top of the ink. I'll post the "after" drawing, with the color added, later. The title of this piece is "indecision". Notice that there's a bite taken out of oevery apple. This woman seems to have everything that should could want, but there's still something missing...
